Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
And also to add to that Wasn't the first person segments during action, when it shouldn't of been?

Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
The problem was constantly having to switch in the middle of battles, when you couldn't even move during first person mode.MBParadox wrote:And also to add to that Wasn't the first person segments during action, when it shouldn't of been?
Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
It should be a manual switch in which you can walk in first person.

Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
Yeah, but wouldn't it be so much easier to keep it over-the-shoulder all the time, that way you don't have to switch at all? If you haven't played them, look up gameplay videos of Kid Icarus: Uprising (land battles, not air battles) and Gears of War. It still has the aiming style of first person (without being first person), but allows you to see your surroundings better so you can do more action-type things as well.MBParadox wrote:It should be a manual switch in which you can walk in first person.
Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
If you would prefer it to be in Third person and it was a manual switch then you simply wouldn't switch. Dilemma averted.

Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
Third person and first person still have minute differences that won't translate well as "optional" play styles. If they have both, they would likely have to make you constantly switch between them. That's just what I think though.MBParadox wrote:If you would prefer it to be in Third person and it was a manual switch then you simply wouldn't switch. Dilemma averted.
Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
The game would just need a bit of that Ol' Nintendo polish.

I think for local multiplayer it would have something like Metroid Blast in Nintendo Land. One person with a gamepad and others with wiimote+ and nun-chucks.gamingbeast4lifeson wrote:Mix of wii u gamepad or wiimote+ and nunchuck

True, but he is following the rules though, so it's cool. However Mr. MBParadox please quote people more often (when responding to a certain person) and use multi quotes when responding but you are a newbie which is why you aren't used to everything yet lolsketdansuu wrote:damn MBParadox is on the posting rampage

Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
I would love if they mixed in the playstyles of the prime games, Other M and the 2D games. Half the time you'd be playing in third person, but not a bird's eye view like Other M. I'm thinking something more like the Arkham games, in which its a behind the shoulder view. So in a sense it would be similar to the prime games in that it would always be somewhat behind Samus and we'd more or less be seeing what she is seeing.
Also, I'd love to have more control over Samus's Melee abilities. In Other M I thought the controls for her Melee attacks were pretty clunky. They should add more ways that you can easily control her Melee attacks in this game. Also they should add in a few awesome combos for us to use, that would be sick! It doesn't have to be like God of War or Devil May Cry, but something more than the finishing moves we had in Other M would be great!
When in third person, the gamepad should show a scanned version of what Samus is seeing. Such as the scanning visor view, or the X-ray version view or whatever. But you should be able to tap a portion of that screen to change it to be a 3D map that you can easily navigate. And you should probably be able to equip your beam/missle/type with just a tap of the screen.
In half of the game though, there shoud be areas that are played in a 2D sidescroller format. Like the older games in the series. But during these segments you are playing it all on the gamepad. Now that would be sick in my eyes! This switch between third person and 2D sidescrolling would be great for bossfights and make for interesting navigation in my eyes!

I would like to see the fast paced third person style return but with one huge change away from Other M that faulted that game.

Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
I don't know if I'd want a 3rd-person Metroid or a Prime. Most likely a Prime.

Well they can have hte gamecube on the stand on a table in front of you and hten you can play wiht the wii remote and nunchuk. so you have benifits of both IR based controls + maps/item select/scan info etc... all on your gamepad.
In regards to the viewpoint, I think third person IR controlled shooter would be an awesome idea. like press Z to go into over the shoulder which sharpens your visions and improves the pointer aim to hit enemies precisely. Letting go of Z would let the camera loosen back and get into fast paced movement and platforming flexiblitiy. sounds pretty simple to me.
Accessibilty should be the key here. the franchise needs a bigger fanbase.

Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
I want another Prime style game. I would like the pad to be optional as well.
What improvements I would like to see however is a robust online system. Think Halo, especially with special horde modes (firefight) and character customization. That would be perfect for me...
Also, Prime usually has stunning graphics in outdoor environments. Maybe that Cry Engine 3 game that Crytech was talking about is Prime 4? Crysis has beautiful outdoor environments. Ah but wishful thinking I suppose..

Re: Metroid Wii U [OT]
I want whatever they throw at me. Unless it sucks, in which case... lame.
Anyhow, those talking about the new Zelda I think Miyamoto said a while back that he kinda wants to go back to the traditional control style for a new Zelda.
I'll see if I can find an article.
I can't post the link until my 7 days is up... so just Google "Miyamoto on Zelda Wii U" first ign article.

Actually what he stated is he wants to create a more link to the past style game, in reference to the 3DS not Wii Uchrisparlamas wrote:I want whatever they throw at me. Unless it sucks, in which case... lame.
